This past Sunday I checked out a book at my church library titled The Creative Call by Janice Elsheimer and it is verging between brilliance and genius! I love this book. I highly recommend it for any creative person. The tag line of the book is “an artist’s response to the Way of the Spirit.” This book is fabulous, it is part philosophy of being a Christian artist and part practical guide to “reawaken the artist within you.” I think the book is catered more toward older artists that have made careers out of something other than the art they love but even so, everything in the book so far has resonated with me. It’s very fierce.
Hi fierce friends! It seems crazy that it is the middle of July right now! Where has the summer gone? A few weeks ago my hubby and I were at a friend’s backyard grill out and someone asked us if we were going to Vans Warped Tour that was in 2 or 3 days. I wasn’t aware of what Vans Warped Tour was but when I heard the line up of various bands I immediately told my hubby. He showed me a music video of one of the bands that were going to be there and essentially anytime you see an outdoor concert in a music video it was probably taken at Vans! Granted this isn’t the only outdoor traveling music festival but it is the biggest in the U.S.! So the next day my husband got us tickets and I moved my schedule around so that we could go! My camera was in tow and I took a bunch of great shots.

We met and had a bass lesson with the bassist from Memphis May Fire
We had a blast at Family Force Fives’s set. I would say they were the best of the day! All in all in was a great and exhausting day!
“If you think adventure is dangerous, try routine, it’s lethal.” ~ Paul Coelho
I found this quote scrolling through my Instagram newsfeed. It’s pretty fierce, eh? I’ve been thinking about all the changes that have occurred over my life in the past 6 months, the last year, the last 2 years. So much has changed. I’ve heard another quote that I’ve probably shared with you before, “day by day nothing changes, but pretty soon everything is different” it’s amazing how some humans embrace change and some shy away from it. Things are always changing. Life is fleeting. Sometimes we remove ourselves from certain situations or turn down opportunities out of fear. We’re all on this adventure called life and if you think it’s dangerous, well try a routine, it’s lethal.
