Statement of Faith

Short story: I am an orthodox Christian. I am either a four point or five point Calvinist. One of those, whatever I am I’m not Armenian! Ha. Long story is below;

I affirm that Jesus Christ was and is the Son of God and the Son of Man. Fully God. Fully man. I affirm that He was born of a virgin, Mary, He lived a sinless life. He was unjustly crucified but His crucifixion, God the Father, accepted as the penalty for mankind’s past, present, and future sins. He was bodily resurrected on the third day after his death because death had been defeated. He was a substitutionary sacrifice for my sins and yours and the work that was the cross is the free gift of salvation that is offered to all mankind who put their faith and trust in Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior.

I affirm that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and there is no error with the Holy Scriptures.

I affirm that God is the Creator God and He created the world. He is eternal. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. That means all powerful, all present, and all knowing. God is the triune God. That is, He is one God but three in persons.

I affirm that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He indwells those that have put their faith in Jesus Christ.

I affirm what Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” I also affirm that those who have put their trust in Christ Jesus, that God has and is fulfilling the promise of Ezekiel 36:26, “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” The apostle Paul affirms this in 2 Corinthians 5:17 when he says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”

I believe that Jesus Christ is coming again to earth to rapture His church and then, after a time of tribulation on earth, He will return to earth again with His church to reign on the earth for a thousand years. Then, a new earth and new heaven will be created and life with God will go on for eternity.

I could go on, but these are the important things of the faith. Feel free to ask me about any specific doctrine. I love talking about theology and my faith.
